More than ever, it is vital that young people share their faith.  90% of Catholics who leave the faith do so by age 23. The National Young Catholic Leaders seeks to change that before the young generation reaches college age. Through powerful speakers, NYCL empowers teens to go out into the world and evangelize, giving them a springboard to moving into careers in ministries like FOCUS, NET Ministries, or Damascus Mission.

Acts 13:47: For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”

Evangelization is nothing without a community to back up the mission and welcome new leaders into the Church. After the monthly talk, leaders will be invited into small group time to check in and share about their talk experience, before being challenged to go out in the world and disciple others in new ways,

1 John 1:7:But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Sam Bartek first felt Jesus' presence in Adoration during a middle school conference and completely flipped his life around. Since then, he's served on the BASIC team and Franciscan LEAD. He's attended Steubenville of the Rockies three times and NCYC twice. These events deeply changed the way he sees the young Church- not in decline, but alive and growing. Sam seeks daily to follow Christ's Great Commission through the example of Paul, who was called to "be a witness to all that [he has] seen and heard."

Becki Norick is a charismatic goofball with a heart for serving people! Jesus has been her best friend as long as she can remember and has been with Becki through the good and the bad. She loves music, Star Wars, and basically anything cozy or sentimental.  Becki's life mission is to let Christ's light shine through her and in the words of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini: I will go anywhere and do anything in order to communicate the love of Jesus to those who do not know Him or have forgotten Him."

Katie Harakal would describe herself as a fun-loving, passionate young woman who loves spending time with Jesus in Adoration and painting sidewalk murals. In between her classes at Bishop Machebeuf High School and Franciscan University of Steubenville, Katie has developed a love for pro-life work, sushi, praise and worship, and helping people to recognize their God-given dignity and goodness.
