Catechism of the Catholic Church

An online copy of the Catechism provided by the USCCB. The Catechism is the most definitive book about Catholic doctrine available. In 1986, Pope John Paul II appointed a Commission of Cardinals and Bishops to develop a compendium of Catholic doctrine.  Three years later, in 1989, the Commission sent the text to all the Bishops of the world for consultation. They made more than 24,000 amendments before JPII's approval in 1992.
