The mission of the National Young Catholic Leaders is to connect and empower Catholic high schoolers across America. We equip over 130 members with powerful resources and a supportive community to fulfill the Apostolic Commission of Saint Paul as exemplified in Acts 22:15.
We believe this commission has been handed on to the Church's laity. To undertake this task, we lead lives dedicated to serving as daily witnesses of the Catholic faith. Through our deeds and our testimonies, we teach others how to live lives dedicated completely to Jesus.
It is vital more than ever that young people share their faith. 68% of Catholics who leave the faith do so by age 23. The National Young Catholic Leaders seeks to change that before the young generation reaches college age. Through powerful speakers, NYCL empowers teens to go out into the world and evangelize, giving them a springboard to move into campus ministry.
Acts 13:47: For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”
Evangelization is nothing without a community to back up the mission and welcome new leaders into the Church. After the monthly talk, Leaders are invited into a short small group time to check in and share about their talk experience, before being challenged to go out in the world and disciple others in new ways.
1 John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Inviting the Lord into our daily lives and fostering a personal relationship with Christ is a crucial aspect of living as a witness. Leaders live out their faith lives in their own unique ways, but they trust that it is united through prayer for God's greater glory.
Mt 6:33: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.
You have a calling to become a saint. To go to heaven, and to bring your friends and loved ones with you. To live out the Apostolic Commission in a way only you can. But you have to pick up the phone and choose to live out Christ's greatness.
Doing so will mean great hardship. But the kingdom lies ahead. The movement is rising. The phone is ringing. The door is being pounded on.
What will you do?
